Industrial Paraffin Wax Processing, Engineered End to End

A paraffin wax production line converts bulk refined or semi-refined paraffin into a consistent, ready-to-ship product. ProTrus integrates every stage—bulk melting, additive blending, filtration, controlled cooling and final forming—into one automated system built for candle, packaging, cosmetic, rubber and hot-melt manufacturers.

Because wax quality depends on its temperature history, each line holds tight control over heating, agitation and throughput. The same plant can be configured for fully refined, semi-refined or microcrystalline wax and for blends with additives such as stearic acid, polymers or dyes, so you can switch recipes without rebuilding the line.

Turnkey Paraffin Wax Plant, Configured to Your Process

Every project starts with your wax grades, target output and final product format. ProTrus engineers the process flow and 3D layout, manufactures and factory-tests the equipment, then handles installation, commissioning and operator training on site. Lines can run in batch or continuous mode and are prepared for SCADA integration, energy monitoring and future capacity expansion, in line with international safety standards.

Clean Design, Consistent Wax Quality

Product-contact parts are made of stainless steel with smooth, drainable surfaces that limit wax build-up and cross-contamination between grades. Jacketed vessels and heat-traced transfer lines keep wax at the right temperature from tank to forming station, while integrated CIP (Clean-in-Place) circuits shorten changeovers and keep color and odor consistent from batch to batch.

What Is Paraffin Wax and Where Is It Used?

Paraffin wax is a white or colorless solid hydrocarbon wax separated from petroleum during lube oil refining. It is valued for its clean burn, water resistance, low reactivity and good thermal insulation. Fully refined grades have a very low oil content, while semi-refined and microcrystalline grades are softer and more flexible. Typical end uses include:

  • Candles and tealights
  • Food and paper packaging coatings
  • Cosmetic and pharmaceutical-grade formulations
  • Rubber, tire and cable compounds
  • Hot-melt adhesives, crayons and polishes

How the Paraffin Wax Production Process Works

  1. Receiving and melting: Wax slabs or bulk liquid wax are melted in heated, agitated tanks using hot water, thermal oil or steam.
  2. Blending: Additives such as stearic acid, microcrystalline wax, polymers, dyes or UV stabilizers are dosed and mixed to the recipe.
  3. Filtration: Bag or cartridge filters remove particles and impurities before forming.
  4. Controlled cooling: Wax is cooled at a defined rate to achieve the required hardness, opacity and crystal structure.
  5. Forming: The finished wax is cast into slabs, dropped into pastilles on a steel belt, or flaked on a cooling drum.
  6. Packaging: Slabs, pastilles or flakes are weighed and bagged or boxed for shipment.

Main Equipment in a ProTrus Paraffin Wax Line

  • Melting tanks with jacketed heating and precise temperature control
  • Agitated blending vessels for homogeneous additive mixing
  • Dosing systems for additives, colors and fragrances
  • Filtration units for impurity removal
  • Heat-traced transfer piping and pumps that prevent wax solidification
  • Slab molding, pastillating or flaking stations for the final format
  • PLC/SCADA control panel with recipe management and data logging

Benefits of an Automated Paraffin Wax Production Line

  • Consistent quality: repeatable temperature profiles deliver the same hardness and color in every batch
  • Lower energy use: insulated vessels and optimized heating reduce operating costs
  • Higher safety: closed handling of hot wax reduces operator exposure and burn risk
  • Traceability: batch records support quality audits and customer specifications
  • Less downtime: CIP-ready design speeds up cleaning and grade changes

Frequently Asked Questions About Paraffin Wax Production Lines

What capacity can a paraffin wax production line handle?

Capacity is engineered for each project. ProTrus sizes melting tanks, filtration and forming equipment based on your daily output target, wax grades and final format—from compact batch plants to continuous high-volume lines. Share your required tonnage and product mix to receive a tailored layout.

Can one line produce both wax slabs and pastilles?

Yes. A single line can include more than one forming station—for example slab molding and a steel-belt pastillator—so you can supply different customers from the same melting and blending section.

Can the line process microcrystalline wax and wax blends?

Yes. Temperature ranges, agitation and filtration are configured for fully refined, semi-refined and microcrystalline grades, as well as blends with stearic acid, polymers or colorants. Recipes are stored in the control system for quick changeovers.

What is included in a turnkey paraffin wax project?

A turnkey ProTrus project covers process design, 3D layout, equipment manufacturing and factory testing, installation, commissioning, operator training and after-sales support, so the line is delivered ready to produce.
